Using Design Thinking to create the best experiences
S.T.E.A.M. Education
K - 12 Grade
I am honored to be entering my sixth year of teaching in 2021. I have taught at a International Baccalaureate (IB) school, a Montessori school, and currently teaching at a school that specializes in teaching students with language and speech disabilities
All of these experiences, and different styles of teaching and learning have given me a unique perspective, I have been able to see how introducing technology affect every level from K - 12 Grade. This experience has given me good understanding on how to scaffold technology programs and lessons to reach a certain academic goal or endorsement pathway for student. Furthermore, being able to build technology programs, makerspaces, and tech labs, in every institution I've been part of, and then have the privilege to teach in those spaces, has truly showed me the impact that technology has in the culture of a school, and in the academic possibilities of the students.
I take a constructivist approach to education by teaching students the technology skills necessary to use the tools of the future. I teach students the Design Cycle and introduce Design Thinking, which serve as the basis for the projects we build through out the school year.
Below you can find some of my students' work examples that have been created in my design class/makerspace.
